About Teagan
Letter from Marti Family >>>> Click here!/
Teagan IS NOT your typical 15-year-old girl. She does not like shopping at the mall,
you won't find her chatting online with her friends for hours, and her cell phone is
not glued to her ear. Teagan IS an unfailingly polite, down-to-earth honor roll student
with a shy smile that will melt your heart... AND ... she's the survivor of a terrible
accident that changed her life, leaving her confined to a wheelchair and breathing by way of a tracheotomy.
On July 30, 2010, Teagan fell 100 feet to the ground while on a free-fall amusement
park ride in Wisconsin. She sustained life-threatening injuries and spent two months
in two different ICU's followed by another month at a rehabilitation hospital before
doctors allowed her to return home to continue her rehabilitation as an outpatient.
Teagan is living proof that miracles happen and that faith, hope, and the love of
family and friends are powerful healing forces. Each day, Teagan casts aside doubts
about her chances for a full recovery as she regains movement, strength, and small
degrees of independence. There is no doubt that Teagan has a long, and sometimes
painful, road ahead, but with her positive attitude and drive to succeed, those
that love her have come to believe that is not a question of "if" but rather
of "when" she will be able to live life as she knew it before July 30th.
Until that question is answered, we continue to HOPE, we continue to HELP, and
Teagan will continue to HEAL.
